Annja Krautgasser [n:ja] was born in Hall / Austria. Right now she lives and works in Vienna / Austria. Having studied architecture at the Technical University of Innsbruck and Vienna on one hand and Visual Media at the University of Applied Art in Vienna on the other hand, she is now working primarily on the relationship and approach of and . In multiples ways [n:ja] uses different digital technologies to convert her extended conception of time and space. Thereby her work cannot be reduced to a certain media. Her field of work covers digital video, cd-rom installations, audiovisual livesettings and netart. In all these projects the characteristics of her work are the clearly structured concept and the very abstract-minimalistic graphical language. 2000 [n:ja] founded the studio vidok/re-p - together with other new media artists. Currently she is an assistent at the University of Art in Linz/Austria. Her videos "rewind", "track09" and "frame" were shown at various filmfestivals like the ny underground film festival, chicago underground film festival, cinematexas, acces(s), filmwinter, int. videoartprize zkm, impakt, transmediale, backup, sonar, avanto and others. The netart-project was resently shown at the "fcmm festival 2002" in montreal and at the "viper filmfestival" in basel/ switzerland.
