Stetson University invites applications for a one-year faculty position
in support of its interdisciplinary Digital Arts program that includes
art, music and computer science. The person selected for this position
will be eligible to apply for a tenure-track position, beginning
2004-2005. The position requires strong digital media and imaging
skills, a thorough grounding in traditional media, and an active
engagement with art theory & criticism. Ideally, experience in digital
video and computer-based interactive installation work is preferred.
The candidate should have an MFA and an active exhibition record, as
well as practical technical skills applicable to our Macintosh-based
teaching environment. The teaching load is three courses per semester,
typically two in Digital Arts and one in Art. Applicants must be
committed to working in an interdisciplinary environment, integrating
digital media into a fine arts department and working with
undergraduates in a multidisciplinary program in a liberal arts
college. The starting date for the appointment is August 2003.
