One-year, Full-time Assistant Professor Fine Arts with Digital Media Emphasis 2011-2012
The College of New Jersey Art Department seeks a one-year Assistant Professor of Fine Arts with a digital media emphasis to teach in the Art Department for 2011-2012. The successful candidate will be a working artist with a nationally and/or internationally active exhibition record with the ability to combine engaging teaching with innovative inquiry as a practitioner of new media. Course subjects may include introductory and advanced digital imaging, interactive multimedia and programming, and web design and development. The ideal candidate will also help us develop connections and curriculum between 2-D and 3-D studios with emerging media. Additional responsibilities include development of and participation in departmental events.
The candidate must possess:
- A Master's degree in Fine Arts with deep understanding of digital/interactive media.
- At least two years teaching experience with demonstrated
ability in teaching, leadership, and curriculum development.
- A body of artwork that is content oriented and demonstrates an
understanding of solid design principles and visual aesthetics with a critical understanding of user experience, as well as conceptual thinking in conjunction with sculptural, painterly, performance and/or installation skills and new genres in visual art.
- Knowledge of digital media as it relates to contemporary critical theory.
