Located in the heart of the Chelsea gallery district, CUE Art Foundation is a unique non-profit arts institution that supports artists at many stages of their creative life and introduces their work to a broader public. We do this by serving the artistic and professional needs of under-recognized artists, involving established artists and arts professionals as curators and mentors, and by fostering the artistic talents of middle and high school students.
CUE Art Foundation seeks an undergraduate Arts Administration & Programs Intern who will work closely with all the staff members at the Foundation on a wide range of tasks including exhibitions, arts education, professional development programming, database management, gallery maintenance and visitor services. The internship is geared toward someone who is keen on learning the many aspects of running a non-profit arts organization.
Interns must be passionate about CUE’s mission, and have an interest in contemporary art and non-profit organizations. Interns should have solid research skills, basic knowledge of Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Office, and Wordpress, as well as familiarity with social media outreach. Pleasant and professional demeanor—on the phone, in print and in person—is expected. HTML, Photoshop, and critical, arts-related writing/blogging skills are a plus. Interns are expected to commit 15-20 hours per week for 4 to 6 months. This internship is unpaid, and academic credit can be arranged. Please submit a resume and cover letter expressing interest to [email protected], with subject line reading “Internship”.
No phone calls please; only those we wish to interview will be contacted. CUE is an equal opportunity employer.
