Digital Media Artist

WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY. Digital Media Visiting Artist. Two-year appointment, non-renewable. Start July 1, 2011. MFA or equivalent required. The Luther Gregg Sullivan Visiting Artist is expected to be an emerging artist, i.e., early in career, prepared to teach one course per semester in digital media. Local artistic production (a studio and equipment are provided) and residency are required. Applicants should have a broad knowledge of art history, contemporary theoretical concerns, and competence in a wide range of digital and electronic processes. Knowledge of and experience with 2D graphics, 3D animation, digital video, and multiple computer platforms expected. Teaching experience at college level and exhibition record preferred. Please mail a CD/DVD (not to be returned) containing no more than 5 samples of your own work, none to exceed 3 minutes in length, and 1 sample from each of 5 students, none to exceed 1 minute in length. Files must be in QuickTime [*.mov] and no larger that 1024 pixels in width and 768 in height, with each file identified with a number and your name or the student’s name (marked STU).
