Assistant Professor Media Art

The Art Department and Interactive Multimedia Program invite applications for a full-time, one-year temporary position as an Assistant Professor, beginning in the Fall 2010 semester. The successful candidate will combine engaging teaching with innovative inquiry as a practitioner and scholar of new media.

Candidates must hold at least a master's degree in digital/interactive media or a related field. The ideal candidate can address both the media and the interactive aspects of the discipline, combining a knowledge of digital imaging, video, animation, etc. with that of programming, interface design and user experience design. Course subjects include introductory digital media and programming, and web design and development. The ideal candidate will also help us develop emerging areas of our curriculum, such as physical computing and design for mobile platforms. Additional responsibilities include assistance with online promotional efforts, development of and participation in departmental events, and reviewing IT and facilities needs.
