Assistant Professor of Fine Arts

The Art Department invites applications for a full-time, one-year temporary position for an Assistant Professor of Fine Arts, to begin Fall 2010. The successful candidate will be an engaging, inspiring teacher and scholar/artist who will contribute to the active development of the Fine Art program and who is committed to personal, creative practice and has an active exhibition record.

Candidates must hold a MFA degree in Art with ideally two years of college level teaching experience.We seek someone who has knowledge of ractices and theoretical frameworks pertinent to contemporary art. A successful candidate should master the fundamentals of beginning and more advanced drawing and painting as well as have knowledge and understanding of contemporary approaches to both. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate fine art courses, not limited to, but including drawing and painting and assisting the fine arts coordinator with coordinator duties and with the management of studios.
