The School of Design is engaged in the teaching and research of Design situated within the wider domain of cultural production.
This new course in Photography and Situated Media aims to develop new, practical, and theoretical competence in the creation and research of the Image in contemporary society.
To this end we are looking for a creative, dynamic, and experienced person to lead an area of study that draws together traditional photo-media with user-generated, cross platform, interactive, and locative media practice.
A part-time or split position can be negotiated if an integrated (industry / research / institutional) approach is seen as beneficial.
This core new appointment will lead and conduct research with a team of contributing international researchers that will both define the discipline and collaborate with the existing disciplines in the school.
Drawing on your established creative practice you will have the opportunity to further grow your strong international professional network. The successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of exhibition and publication at international level and use this role to share their knowledge and experience of a broad range of contemporary photographic and media art practices.
Salary range: Level B $73,149 to $86,846 pa.
Level C $89,551 to $103,086 pa.
The University offers salary packaging plus attractive superannuation.
