Berkeley Artist Tim Belonax on the Dynamic Beauty of Mistakes, Errors in Execution, and Embracing Intuition and Curiosity
EMERYVILLE, CA —Please join The Compound Gallery June 8 at 4 p.m. for a pre-dinner drink and some lively conversation with Tim Belonax, the artist behind the dynamic and spontaneous art in the gallery’s latest show: “All Of My Mistakes Have Led Me To You.”
The Compound will offer refreshments, and a chance to hear Tim talk about inspirations, themes and influences behind his work, as well as his process of celebrating mistakes by using gestural spontaneity to achieve unexpected, explosive results. The body of work is the result of years of screen-printing posters, becoming fascinated by the errors made in execution, and embracing them as better-than-planned results. With his background as an artist and professor, Tim is sure to offer a nuanced and comprehensive perspective on his whole journey.
