Through our Open Call, created to keep critique group size small, artists join a four-week residency featuring twice-weekly, 3-hour live critiques at globally accommodating times. For October, Carla Gannis, a professor at NYU and a multidisciplinary artist, will jury the applications. It is open and free to artists who can upload their artwork. Loop is inclusive of seasoned developers and artists with no experience working in the expanded web. There are materials available to help guide artists whatever their prior knowledge.
Artists should submit only artwork to the Open Call; no other credentials. Anonymity is respected through the use of handles and avatars. Post-residency, artists participate in dual exhibitions, The Salon and The Salon des Refuses, accessible to the public for one month.
LAC operates freely for artists, supported by self-funding and contributions from The MUD Foundation.
