The Digital Technology and Culture program at Washington State University (WSU), Pullman campus invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Career Track, Teaching), nine-month, three-year appointment with possibility of renewal, with a focus in one or more of the following areas broadly defined: web development and design, interactive media arts, games studies, game design, AR/VR/XR, data visualization and/or curation, sound studies, digital cinema, and animation. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2022.

The Digital Technology and Culture (DTC) program is an interdisciplinary program within the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) emphasizing humanistic understandings of technology, publicly engaged research, and creative production emphasizing social justice, anti-racist pedagogies, and decolonial methodologies.  DTC faculty combine creative production and critical inquiry with an emphasis on community engagement in various formats. The DTC program is a growing unit with several undergraduate tracks and a graduate certificate. Students in any track in the program receive instruction on engaged practice and critical approaches to a wide breath of theory, technology, and media. More information about the degree tracks offered in DTC can be found here: https://dtc.wsu.edu/major-requirements/. The successful candidate will join a growing interdisciplinary program consisting of scholars, teachers, and practitioners of design, animation, critical digital literacy, digital media studies, web development, information ethics, critical game studies, and software studies. The DTC program offers the B.A., as well as a graduate certificate in digital culture and humanities.
