VertexList space has the pleasure to present "The Mus Musculus Domesticus Project, chapter one" by Maria A. Lopez and Ernesto Restrepo.

Join us for a live chip-tunes (Nintendo, Atarti, Commodore) performance by Nullsleep and Minusbaby, free admission, Saturday Nov. 13, 9 pm.

The opening reception will take place on Saturday, November 13th 2004, 7pm - 10pm.
The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, December 5th 2004.



Maria Adelaida Lopez and Ernesto Restrepo are Miami based Colombian mixed-media artists. They have exhibited extensively in the USA: White Box (NY), Benedicta Art Center (MN), Tyler Gallery (PA)
and in Colombia: Galeria Oficina (Medellin), Valenzuela y Klenner Gallery, (Bogota), Museum of Modern Art (Bogota) and many others.

"The Mus Musculus DomesticusProject, chapter one" is a politically loaded social commentary, metaphor and a micro-urban experiment. Forty live, female house mice are trapped in a miniature city constructed by the artists in their apartment and transported in units to the gallery. The self-contained microcosm is equipped with surveillance cameras which reveal the private life of its inhabitants.




VertexList gallery hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday 2pm -7pm, or by appointment.

Directions by subway: take the the L to Graham Av, cross Metropolitan Av, keep walking on Graham Av all the way to the BQE. Cross Meeker Av. Bayard is the first street parallel to the BQE on the other side. Turn left, we are on the left side of the street.:-)
