Assistant Professor in Print and Publication Arts

The Department of Art at the University of California Santa Barbara invites applications for a full-time tenure track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the broadly defined area of Artists' Print beginning July 1, 2020.

We seek an accomplished artist with expertise in analog and digital print processes in the production of singular and editioned works that may include prints, artists' publications, online projects and digital/expanded drawing.

The position encourages exploration at the intersections of hand-craft and machine-craft, visual communication, social engagement, new narratives, mixed media, public practice, lens and screen-based work. The position includes oversight and development of lively digital (2D & 3D) and analog print labs with staff, and offers potential for the development of collaborative projects and publications with artists, writers and researchers across campus and beyond. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching, service, and their practice/research.
