Solstizio Calvino

Hello all,

The second annual Solstizio Calvino will take place in Minneapolis Minnesota on June 15, 2019, at the East River Flats park, 4:00 PM to dusk.

This year will consist of 104 gray bricks from Menards, called 3"x 6" Tumbled Belgian Reversible Pavers, or other brick-shaped stone material, set out in a 24' to 36' diameter millstone quarter dress pattern on grass. There will be six wooden boxes inside the circle, each named for one of Italo Calvino's essays in his 1985 book "Six Memos for the Next Millennium." The boxes contain slips of paper 5.5" x 2.75", with a text from that box's essay on one side and two images on the other. The images are of maps, brainscans, architecture, and astronomy.

Please feel free to create your own version sometime in June prior to the 20th if you wish, or attend the one in Minneapolis.
