Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Art, Technology, and Culture Department

Art Technology & Culture Job Description The School of Art and Art History at the University of Oklahoma is in an ambitious, multi-year period of growth and renewal. As part of this expansion, applications are now being accepted for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Art, Technology, and Culture Department with a preference for an artist who has expertise in animation. We seek an artist whose practice demonstrates a conceptual and critical understanding of contemporary issues in the scholarly fields of visual art, technology studies, visual culture, and media theory. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an exhibition record and/or professional practice demonstrating an active research and teaching agenda. This is a full-time, nine-month, opening with a 2/3-course load, plus graduate instruction, student advising and committee work to begin August 2016. Primary responsibilities involve teaching and curricular development in one or more of the following areas of interest: animation, code-based practice, mobile and locative media, networks, experimental imaging, virtual environments, community-based practice, experimental documentary practice, 2D/3D CGI, 3D printing and simulation, gaming, and other technology-related fields of study.
