Facebook LGBT flags

NEW WORK: http://www.leggerostudio.com/facebook-lgbt-flags/ 26 June, 2015 was a memorable day for homosexual rights. The Supreme Court of the United States declared samesex marriages legal. Soon after the news spread around the world, Facebook created a Temporary Profile Feature consisting in applying an overlay of the rainbow flag on top of profile pictures, by using a special facebook.com/celebratepride page. The expedient found immediate and enormous response in Facebook users: those days witnessed an overflow of rainbow flags in everyone’s news feed page. I was impressed by the phenomenon, and I soon designed “Facebook LGBT Flags”, a series of flags depicting Mark Zuckerberg’s profile picture filtered by some of the LGBT pride symbols. This is a reflection about the way corporations appropriate people’s causes, symbols and codes. http://www.leggerostudio.com/
