Art Teacher

HTH Media Arts in San Diego is currently looking for an artist to teach art. For this position a teaching credential is not necessary (though it would be welcomed) but a career creating art is. We are looking for an artist who is active with their own creation and passionate about teaching and inspiring young adults.

Launched in September 2000 by an industry and educator coalition in San Diego, CA, the Gary and Jerri-Ann Jacobs High Tech High is a bold innovation in public education. HTH schools are small, project-based learning environments that connect students to the adult world through meaningful work and internships. The HTH Village located in Point Loma on Liberty Station includes High Tech High, HTH International, HTH Media Arts, High Tech Middle and HTM Media Arts. We now have a high school in both San Marcos and Chula Vista. There is no test to get into HTH Village schools; students who live in San Diego County or anywhere in California may apply, and admissions is done by blind lottery, resulting in an ethnically and economically diverse student body.

Curriculum
Teams of teachers engage 50-80 students in interesting and challenging, interdisciplinary, project-based work. Students present their work for feedback from classmates, parents, and community experts. All students do an internship and complete a senior project based on their interests.
