K & T solo show in London

Artists K & T are having their first London solo show - titled "I've dreamed of this since I was a little girl".

The artworks in the show are produced in a number of different media:

The portrait paintings are large scale paintings of female faces. The highly detailed rendering of the skin, hair and eyes contrasts markedly with the monochrome backgrounds. With no details to fix meaning (to the images) the focus become the emotions of the sitters.

The graphics paintings large scale paintings of words set on a tessellating background. The choice of stencil typeface with its do-it-yourself quality is meant to reinforce the personal nature of each message. The words are about the relationship between a girlfriend and a boyfriend.

The fashion monoprints are life size line drawings of different pieces of women’s clothing and accessories, viewed from above. They are about how the three basic tenets of clothing: protection, modesty and adornment. And how women need them in differing combinations.
