LEMUR Gallery Opens to the Public
Weekends starting October 20th

Beginning October 20th, LEMURplex opens its doors to the public each
Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 pm, through December 16th.
Children and adults alike are invited to see, hear and play LEMUR's
musical robots and other exotic electronic musical instruments.
Featured in this exhibit are numerous robotic instruments including
the GuitarBot, XyloBot and ModBots. Attendees are also invited to
play LEMUR's other new musical instruments, including Slime-o-Tron I
& II, Chime-o-Tron and Slink-o-Tron.

Please join us for the Opening Night Gala of the Editions/Artists'
Book Fair (E/AB) benefiting Art Radio WPS1.org, the Web radio station
of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. A great night for a wonderful
cause, the evening's festivities will include a cocktail reception
and performances by LEMUR: League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots
and DJ Jeannie Hopper, host of long-running programs on WBAI and Art
Radio WPS1.org. Now in its tenth year, the E/AB Fair
(www.eabfair.com) is the premier showcase for contemporary publishers
and dealers presenting the latest and greatest in prints, multiples
and artists' books.

This year's Benefit Host Committee brings together artists and art
enthusiasts to celebrate Art Radio WPS1.org: Jaishri Abichandani,
Sarah Basile, Phong Bui, Kent and Marguerite Charugundla, Dana
Farouki, Gandalf Gavan, Jeannie Hopper, David Humphrey, Jaime
Johnson, Kayrock & Wolfy, Lisa Kirk, Zach Layton, Kalup Linzy, Prema
Murthy, Althea Viafora-Kress, Kate Werble, Saman Westberg and Arden
Wohl.

JG Thirlwell presents two sets of music, first with his group
Manorexia, then new and recent pieces for LEMUR robots and string
quartet. Manorexia material will be drawn from the two Manorexia
albums, Volvox Turbo (2001) and The Radiolarian Ooze (2002). JG will
also present several pieces he has composed with the LEMUR robotic
instruments and a live string quartet. In addition to
"Prosopagnosia," a commissioned piece he premiered earlier this year
at LEMUR's Robosonic Eclectic concert, Thirlwell will present a brand
new piece and two new adaptations for robotic instruments and
strings: the Steroid Maximus piece L'espion Qui A Pleure and a
special rearrangement of the theme song for The Venture Brothers
cartoon.
