Web Manager - Art21, Inc.

Art21 is a non-profit art organization dedicated to introducing contemporary artists to a large audience. Art21 produces the Peabody-winning primetime PBS series, Art:21—Art in the Twenty-First Century, as well as extensive free educational resources and outreach programs; companion books; and various websites at www.pbs.org/art21, www.art21.org, blog.art21.org, youtube.com/art21org, art21.blip.tv, and inside Facebook, MySpace and Flickr.

Art21 seeks a full-time web manager to oversee a major re-envisioning and redesign of this web presence, while also continuing to maintain Art21's existing sites.

Responsibilities include:
Maintain Art21 websites, collaborating with various Art21 departments to ensure all content (rich-media and text) is up-to-date on our websites and ancillary sites.
Assist in the production of Art21's regular web publications, including its blog and weekly email newsletter.
Lead third-party developers through design and development of a new, unified website, managing timeline, budget, specifications and deliverables.
Coordinate the production of a variety of content streams (text, images, video) to be supplied for the launch of the upcoming redesigned Art21 website.
Ongoing site administration, including site statistics, hosting agreements, domain name licenses, and web expenses and budget.

Qualifications:
4 years minimum of web production experience.
Experience with online content management tools.
Proficiency in web production—including photo manipulation, graphic creation, and advanced HTML, PHP and CSS. Adobe Flash a plus.
Proficiency with video and other new media content; Familiarity with video editing and compression software for streaming video online
Experience with online social networking platforms
Experience with web analytics
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Strong communication and good writing skills.
A creative spirit and a passion for contemporary art will be viewed favorably
