Thank you for entering the 2006 LA Freewaves' 10th festival of new media
arts. We received over 1800 international entries for this year's
festival
with only 150 slots for screenings. Although your work was not selected
for inclusion as an official selection for this year's festival, we
would
like to invite you to participate in our online "archive" of streaming
new
media works. We will be starting this project after the November
festival.
Many excellent works did not make the curators' final cut this year due
to
space, budget and thematic limitations. However, we feel many of the
overlooked works merit inclusion in our online archive and have decided
to
present additional works (via streaming or links to external sites) on
our
Freewaves website. We would like permission to include your work in
this
supplemental archive.
Although we cannot pay you an honorarium for your work, we hope you will
participate in this online project for the exposure your work will
receive. Please read over, fill out, sign and return the attached
contract to confirm your participation in our media arts archive.
To prepare for the project, we will use your submitted DVD or later
request a better copy of work(s) if required. If you have any
questions,
please email us at [email protected] We will also be contacting
participating artists after the festival with additional details.
We hope you agree to participate in our new media art archive, and look
forward to working with you.
