girl in black

I was walking through High Park on Mothers day, it's the largest park in Toronto.
I had my camera with me on my daily exercise, I was walking rapidly and watching the ground.
On my way back I saw in the bushes, a young woman, dressed in a black coat with a black hood, she was completely enshrouded in her outer garment.
She was wandering slowly through an area of the park that wasn't cleared for walking.
She seemed to be drifting slowly up to the ridge. In her hand she held a bright red flower. I couldn't make out what type of flower she was holding, but it was very bright.
I kept on my quick pace up for a few seconds and then suddenly stopped. I thought, I'll swing around and capture the scene with this strange wanderer. But she had already turned, I think she saw my camera. I could only capture her back.
I photographed her at a distance, but every time I slowly approached she withdrew.
I cycled back down to the main path and then up to the ridge to get a better view, but she had disappeared. As if made of pure vapors she dissolved into the moist air.
'What was she doing', I thought.
All I have is this distant photograph, on Mothers Day. Was she mourning? Was she honoring a memory? Was she performing a ceremony and I had disturbed her?
I quickly returned to my senses and made my way home.
