I'm planning a fun event for this fall……a Bush performance-art costume
show! I'm looking for high profile artists and designers to participate.
The exact date has not been set, however it will probably take place late
October around Halloween so it can be a costume event. Please forward the
"Invitation to Artists" to anyone you think would be interested. Deadline
for participants: August 31, 2004

bush1 (boosh) INVITATION TO ARTISTS

Artists and designers, a state-of-the-union art performance event is being
planned to take place this fall in New York City. This groundbreaking event
will feature wearable art created to interpret the event's theme. Your
participation is requested.

The theme of this production is your individual interpretation (or use) of
the word "Bush". You may think a "Bush" is a low shrub with many branches,
or a thick growth of female pubic hair. It's sometimes used in phrases such
as bushwhacker, bush-league or the biblical burning bush. This show is
about your interpretation of the word "Bush", so the definition is totally
up to you. Can you go beyond the obvious? You may want to consult a
dictionary or image bank to broaden your ideas. Your design can be
conceptual, flamboyant, minimal, outrageous, subtle, or other observant
interpretations. What's your play on Bush?

Each wearable artwork will be featured within a runway style fashion show
and modeled by the artist or an affiliate. The show will be performed in a
well-equipped nightclub in Chelsea, which includes a stage, runway area,
professional lighting, microphones, music etc. The event will take place in
October, however the exact date, location and time will be determined
approximately 2 months prior to the show.

If you have any questions, would like to become involved in the production
of this event, or have interest in installing other art within the space,
please contact the organizers before August 31, 2004.
