I was reading an article in the current issue of Leonardo Magazine called "Intellectual Property: A Chronological Compendium of Intersections between Contemporary Art and Utility Patents" by Robert Thill. The article references Lisa Schmitz's installation "World Artistic Property Organization". This piece was shown as an installation in 1993. A Google search exposed an orphaned link to what looks like the an attempt to do something online on Ars Electronica's site – in 1995. Does anyone know anything more about this, or know how to contact the artist? I think the concept is interesting - and would like to find out more.
