Clearinghouse July Meeting Times:
The Clearinghouse will be meeting the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays in July
(July 1st, 15th and 29th)
At St Marks Church (10th and 11th Street and 2nd Avenue)

Orientation will be at 7pm Sharp!!
And the Regular meeting at 7:20 Sharp!
(as opposed to our regular 7:10 start time)

Still We Rise will be meeting in the space from 5-7pm – so PLEASE DO NOT
ENTER THE ROOM EARLY.

The Structure group will be proposing that we make changes to the agenda,
due to the large numbers of groups attending:

We will propose that we skip the individual go-around at the beginning (as
groups have an opportunity to introduce themselves in the Report-Backs
section – and we a re a Clearinghouse of groups)

We will propose that we shift to a spokescouncil meeting model. We will
propose that the Independent groups limit their report back time to 30
seconds, and working groups to 1minute. We will encourage Working groups
that are having difficulty meeting the needs of the mobilization to use the
discussion time to present their issues to the group.

Chicago-New York Organizing Coalition Meeting

The Chicago-New York Organizing Coalition will be holding their weekly
meeting around the RNC in the student organizations' hub of Columbia College
at 1104 S. Wabash this Thursday, July 1 at 6:30. All groups or individuals
interested in helping to shut down the Republican National Convention this
fall are more than welcome to attend.

PGP encryption/email security workshops

********KEEP THE MAN'S NOSE OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS********

Come to a training to learn about PGP encryption and email security.

In these Patriot Act days, every activist and organizer should know how
to protect the information that they send over the web or keep on their
hardrive of their computer. Especially now as organizing for the RNC is
starting here in New York.

In this training you will learn the basics of how to use PGP for
encrypting emails as well as encrypting a section of your hard drive to
store sensitive information.

This is a very hands on training. Every participant will be at a
computer going through the process of generating PGP keys, exchanging keys,
encrypting/decrypting, making an encrypted section on your hardrive,
practicing communicating with each other.

The workshop is geared towards people who have had none or very little
experience with PGP, and will be 2-3 hours long.

Everyone will leave with a cd copy of PGP to take with them to install
on their Mac or Windows computers at home or office, as well as the
knowledge, ability, and confidence to use it. It's easy, really!

If you have your own laptop, please bring it as that will free up
computer space and allow for more participants.

You MUST RSVP as space and computers are limited. Please RSVP for each

1) Which date you'd like to come
2) Will you bring your own laptop

You will be sent a confirmation

****If you are part of an organization, affinity group, or collective who's
members want to take the training and there are at least 7 people, you may
inquire about setting up a separate training for your group.
If there's enough demand we'll keep setting them up, so inquire about
other dates.
