It vibrates through the bed. It has grateful
fingers, and coils of summer freckles
striping its tongue(it laps
like Lake Erie around Elizabeth

Duggan). Gushes of it uproot tombs
out of which that which crawls
sucks vacant spatters of balsa vinegar

and Elizabeth Duggan now arches her back,
her eyes too blue for her brown skin.
