Re: Transmission Series Launched at the New Museum of Contemporary Art

This is great. All the EAT emails that have
been spilling through the e-waves lately and
now this new project at the Zenith Lounge that
reads a lot like how I've always imagined
Rauschenberg's EAT project, Oracle.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own radios to the venue or pick up one of the portable radios positioned in the site to select their own channels and manipulate the transmitters. The performance itself will take place on February 20 6.30-8pm, and the radio installation will remain on view until Sunday 22 February.

>About Transmission Series
>As part of its Digital Culture Evenings, the New Museum is launching the Transmission series. The series aims to expose the work of artists and scholars dealing with the concept of ?transmission? in new media, radio, sound, generative audio and a vast array of broadcast media. The series will also include artist interventions and disruptions, collaborative workshops, performances, and debates.

>The Transmission series will punctuate the run of exciting Digital Culture Evenings planned for the longer transitional period for the New Museum. It will also act as a metaphor for the museum?s desire to keep communication channels with its audiences open during this time.
