Letter of protest over the dropping of the Chapman Brothers

To the chair of the selection panel, War Artists in
Iraq.

I'm writing to protest against the dropping of Jake
and Dinos Chapman as war artists in Iraq despite the
Independent reporting there being majority support for
them on the selection panel.
It's clear that this has been done exclusively for
political reasons, especially given the government's
current attempts to intimidate the BBC and the
brothers' stated intention of protesting against the
war in their work.
Had the Chapman brothers been chosen they would simply
be reflecting the massive majority of domestic and
world opinion.
Is it only acceptable to engage war artists who are
known in advance to take an agnostic or pro war
position? -in this case the whole war artist project
is brought into disrepute.
