question about net art venues, physical spaces

Well, I am inbetween projects, so as people noticed, I have been posting
more than ever, sorry if I run thin in the near future…

for now, as I am living in Los Angeles, I will say that there are two major
events that keep Lalaland going. The first would be AIM (Art in Motion):

and the second would be LA Freewaves: http://freewaves.org/newSplash.htm

Both of these events already finished their programming so it would be hard
to tell how the economy will affect them next year. So, perhaps what I
mentioned to Marc Garrett in a previous thread might be completely different
next year:

Connecting your thesis to what I mentioned to Marc Garrett in the above
thread, I think I should rephrase the idea of being conservative. It would
be hard for me to make such a claim globally, but I think that it would be
safe to say that it is through non-profits that most people online are able
to understand the role of net art. After all we need a hub, no? I will
here share a list I developed for Net Art Review. You will notice that, if
one searches on Yahoo or google or whatever other engine, these
organizations are what one will get more or less – though I will admit that
a good number of them have been submitted by the institutions themselves.
So maybe net art is not meant to be shared in a physical space. I, for one,
feel odd to go to exhibits featuring online work, when that work should be
experienced in the privacy of the home. This is why I think Turbulence
rocks! (look below, need one say more – take at will.)
