Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that a friend of mine is running the 15th
Annual Tahiti Marathon, in Feb & is still in need of sponsorship to make the
trip. He is running for the preservation of Samye Monastery, the first
Buddhist monastery built in Tibet.

Dear Friend,

Enclosed is an invitation to help sponsor the 15th Annual Tahiti Marathon,
taking place on February 15, 2003. The run is 26.2 miles and participants
are endeavoring to take on the challenge for the benefit of various worthy
charities.

Four of the runners, including myself, have chosen to run for the
preservation of Samye Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery built in Tibet
(circa 800 A.D.) Presently, there is extensive water damage to the main
temple as well as many of the surrounding buildings. It is imperative that
this ongoing problem is reversed before priceless ancient murals and
historically important architectural masterpieces are rendered beyond
repair.

Your donation will not only serve the entire Tibetan community, but also
thousands of annual Western visitors who treasure this irreplaceable
Buddhist complex. I have enclosed pictures of Samye in its rarified location
(13,000 ft above sea level) nestled within an 18,000 ft. mountain range.

Any help you can give my team of runners will be greatly appreciated.
