Memoires of a Cyborg

Many thanks to all of you who visited the cyborg's fragmentary memories in
sound, streaming video and digital painting at <http://www.boringart.com>.
She will disappear on Christmas Day.

It has seemed to me that the cyborg is a way of exploring grief and
trauma:the drama of forgetting and remembering in mixed code; the ellipse
of almost memory, the amnesia in the face of two much terror.

'For all those'

For all those whom my heart will not forget,
But for some reason are nowhere,
And those children of terror
Who will never live to see their twenties.
Eight years, nine years old -
And then…Enough, don't torture yourself.

All those whom you truly loved
Will remain alive for you.

_Anna Akhmatova, 1940.
