Poetry Forum: Mark Bibbins and Kathleen Ossip

New School Writing Program faculty and the authors respectively of They Don’t Kill You Because They’re Hungry, They Kill You Because They’re Full and The Do Over.

Mark Bibbins received a Lambda Literary Award for his first collection of poems, Sky Lounge; his second, The Dance of No Hard Feelings was published by Copper Canyon Press (2009), and in 2014, his third They Don’t Kill You Because They’re Hungry, They Kill You Because They’re Full was also published by Cooper Canyon. He co-founded LIT, the journal of the New School graduate writing program. He is a recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship in poetry. His work has appeared in the Paris Review, Boston Review, Poetry, and editions of The Best American Poetry in 2004 and 2010 .

Kathleen Ossip is the author of The Cold War, which was named one of Publishers Weekly's 100 best books of 2011; The Search Engine, which was selected by Derek Walcott for the American Poetry Review/Honickman First Book Prize; and Cinephrastics, a chapbook of movie poems. Her new book The Do-Over will be published in 2015. Poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry, Paris Review, Kenyon Review, Boston Review, American Poetry Review, the Washington Post, The Believer, Fence, Poetry Review (London), and Poetry Magazine. She teaches at The New School and online for The Poetry School in London. She was a co-founder of LIT (the journal of the graduate writing program at The New School), and she's the poetry editor of Women's Studies Quarterly. She has received a fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts, and grants from Yaddo, Ragdale, and the Bread Loaf Writers Conference.
