A fundamental trait of the human self is its continuum experience of space and time. But aberrations in time are boundless: any work that is significant in the present changes the past. Aberrations in time are fantastically alluring — especially in the present moment, in which ideas of the future have dramatically changed into what Bourriaud has called our complete “loss of confidence in the ideas of the future.” Today’s future is seen only in yesterday’s science fiction. Today’s future can only be accessed through the past.
