Hey Eryk, I just saw this tonight. Anyone else see it? I thought it was
pretty good. About the failings of econogovernment by fear.

Yes, it played last month here at the Toronto Film Festival and was
exceedingly well received.
I think one could get excited and claim that the movie was areal gas.

Almost all the 117 hostages who were killed when Russian troops stormed a
Moscow theatre on Saturday died from gas poisoning, it has been admitted.
Only one of those held for three days by Chechen rebels died of gunshot
wounds, said Andrei Seltsovsky, chairman of the health committee of the city
of Moscow. Nearly 650 of the rescued hostages are still being treated for
gas poisoning in hospital. Dr Seltsovsky told a news conference that 150
were in intensive care, and 45 remained in a critical condition. Human
rights group Amnesty International is pressing for an independent inquiry to
reveal details of the gas used during the Russian military operation to end
the Moscow theatre siege. (BBC)

I think you are rushin' to judgement there, but then I am known for my bad
taste.

I'm still wavering whether the BFC movie was any good. Do you feel it was
rotten?

As far as the Theatre, I just wanted to show my media-alertness by
mentioning the gas thing, and how they didn't blast up the whole theatre. I
didn't mean that the Chechens are good, or the Russians are good. All is
not good in the hood, but that's home, that's mean streets.

I can't go too deep into this, because I don't want to be a poster boy for
flatulent protest, and have to save for my book, which I will be going
offlists to write soon as the judges vote.

Factually, if humans are in a crisis akin to "Night of the Living Dead" or
"The Stand," we DO need martial law, democracy and the Constitution be
damned.

My main question being if there are better ways to stop the meltdown, that
are being ignored due to surmountable antipathies to g2k and things like it.

I'm also open to the idea that civilians need chiefly to turn the other
cheek to The Rightening and pray. That would be g2k too, like Bob Marley
said.
