Graphic Design/Foundations Assistant Professor. Tenure-track, beginning August 6, 2016.

Required Qualifications and Education: Candidates for the position must have an MFA in Graphic Design or related field by August 2016. Requirements for the position include: professional experience and prior college level teaching experience, and a combination of skills covering the following areas: typography, contemporary media (web design, mobile device design, motion graphics, and interactive media), identity design, and page layout or print production. Candidates must also be able to teach classes in the Foundations first year program such as 2D design and color, etc. Evidence of knowledge of historical and contemporary design is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional skills might also include experience in packaging, exhibit design, and data visualization.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions: Teach three courses per semester in a NASAD accredited undergraduate program with 275 majors and 22 professionally active full-time faculty, participate in portfolio reviews, student advising, and internship mentoring, provide leadership and vision in curricular development, participate in university and departmental committee work, and maintain an active research professional practice.

Salary: Competitive; commensurate with rank and experience.
