Animate Projects presents a new commission by American artist David Blair, director of the seminal feature WAX, or The Discovery of Television Among the Bees.
The new 10 minute film, Finding the Telepathic Cinema of Manchuria, takes the viewer on a journey to discover the telepathic cinema of Manchuria and to reconstruct the lost Manchurian telepathic feature film, The Lost Tribes. Blair fuses found footage, animation and live action to create a mysterious film that is part documentary and part fantasy.
The film is accompanied by an interview with David Blair and an essay by artist and writer Emily McMehen.
