Contract faculty position available August 21, 2015. Responsibilities: teach four studio classes each semester to undergraduate BFA Visual Communication Design students, Web Design, Graphic Design Studio, and Intro to Computer Art; engage in professional practice, research, and activities related to the discipline; contribute to curriculum development and departmental service. Minimum qualifications: M.F.A. degree in Graphic Design or interactive design emphasis; evidence of teaching potential; Apple platform expertise; evidence of exceptional Web design skills; expertise with current Adobe Creative Suite, current web trends, Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, CSS, and other relevant web languages; evidence of appropriate professional and/or creative activity in design; understanding of design methodology, conceptual approaches, and various design processes as well as practical applications in a variety of media and mediums. Preferred qualifications: documented teaching and professional experience; broad knowledge of contemporary issues in visual culture in the 21st century as it prepares students for careers in the evolving practice of design.
