Quotes for the day.

May those caught in the grip of the anniversary someday find some measure o=
f strength.

However, a little mind grist:

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the
citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a
double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the
mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood
boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in
seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with
fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto
the leader and gladly so.

How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

– Julius Caesar

People can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
Tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of
patriotism.
-HERMAN GOERING

There ought to be limits to freedom.

I went to a new store today for a soda. A very elderly couple run it, on
Raymond just off University down from the Keys. The man said my Dr. Pepper
was a good way to spend a dollar. He said "Have a grand day on this day;"
blue eyes.

This is very much apropos 'humanity' fervor as well,
and pacifism, whichis introverted murderous zeal.

While the pacifists are the first ones to attack non-pacifists.
After all, energetic attacks are so much cleaner and more civilized.
Just ask the Dalai Lama.

> There ought to be limits to freedom.

And that's just nonsense. As is most of this.
Politicians specialize in apparently_ meaningful crap.
Why bother redistributing it?
