Illustration/Foundations Assistant Professor. Tenure-track, beginning August 2015

Required Qualifications and Education:
Candidates for the position must have an MFA in Illustration or related field by August 2015. Requirements for the position include: prior college level teaching experience and professional experience, a combination of skills in a wide variety of traditional media, and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Candidates must be able to teach all levels of Illustration, and have the ability to teach classes outside of the illustration emphasis such as Foundations drawing, design, color and design, etc. A background in historical and contemporary illustration literacy is required, along with a commitment to teaching in an illustration emphasis curriculum that reflects the values of a liberal arts public university.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
Teach three courses per semester in a NASAD accredited undergraduate program with approximately 275 majors, participate in portfolio reviews and student advising, provide leadership and vision in curricular development, participate in university and departmental committee work, and maintain an active research and professional practice.

Salary: Competitive; commensurate with rank and experience.
