The Lower East Side Printshop is pleased to announce THE BALANCING ACT, guest curated by Edward Del Rosario, and on view at the Printshop from July 13 - September 13, 2009. This presentation will feature new works on paper created by artists Rosalia Bermudez, Hope Dector, Scott Faucheux, Caleb Freese, Tai Hwa Goh, Viviane Rombaldi Seppey, and Terence Trouillot; all created during their time working at the Printshop.

Despite the variety of medium, concept, and approach, all the works selected follow a clear balance of composition and structure. From haphazard to orderly, from monochromatic to full spectrum, the elements of the works all maintain a defined, formal comprehension of space. Our understanding of the formal issues of art is a way of uniting us and stabilizing us on the tight ropewalk of creating and experiencing work.
