"Aqua Alta," is exhibited concurrently at the AC [Direct] in New York City and at OPEN XI, in San Servolo, Venice, Italy in conjunction with the architecture biennale.

“Aqua Alta” submerges the listener in the sounds and the effect of the water of and on Venice. What will be heard will be not only the unique sounds of lapping water, cavitation from waves, the sounds of the various sonic sea life native to the lagoon that are also threatened by the changes in the water due to global warming and from above the water the people who are impacting the environment.

In San Servolo "Aqua Alta" is positioned in a portico of the Benedictine monastery. Exhibiting this work in the open space against the historical backdrop of a stunning example of medieval architecture, and simultaneously in the centrally located, urban gallery in the Chelsea section of New York City, effectively invokes thoughts on global warming and the impact of rising waters on not only on Venice but all of our costal cities and cultural repositories around the world.
