Transmodern Performance Festival is currently accepting culinary and artistic proposals for the 2012 festival's outdoor dinner theatre, curated by Rebecca Nagle. Transmodern is hosting a curated feast of theatre, performance art, video, beverages, entrees and delectables. The collected feast will be performed on May 18 and 19 for participants' entertainment and appetite in Current Space's back lot. The large theatre performance will be organized according to the courses of a traditional meal as follows: cocktails, appetizer, soup, salad, entree, dessert, after dinner drink, and peppermint wafer. The content of the course will correspond with the content of the performance. Each artist and/or artist group will create a performance specific to the course of a meal, i.e. one group will perform the cocktail and another group will perform the salad. The content of the food and the serving of the food will be integrated into each act, so that the entire meal may become one large collective ritual of food-based performance. For example, the appetizer group would chose and make the appetizer, serve the appetizer and do a performance while people are eating the appetizer. The stage will be incorporated into the banquet table. Performances can include theatre, dance, music, performance art, interactive performances, and video. Transmodern will provide each artist group with a budget for purchasing food and stipend for performing. Transmodern will also provide a volunteer wait staff to help serve food.

Please submit proposals to Rebecca Nagle at [email protected] by midnight March 15. Proposals should include:
- Artist or group name
- E-mail, phone and website (if available)
- Performance name
- Resume or CV
- 3 to 5 images of previous work
- and answers to the following questions:
1. What meal course will your act correspond to?
2. Please give a 200-500 word description of your performance/ video/ entertainment act.
3. What food will you serve for your course?
4. How will you serve the food?
5. How will the food you serve and the way you serve it relate conceptually to your act?
