Position:
Squeaky Wheel / Buffalo Media Resources in Buffalo, New York, seeks a passionate and committed Executive Director to lead its not-for-profit media arts organization in fulfilling its three-fold mission to provide access, education, and artistic support to community media makers and artists in Western New York.

Serving media makers since 1985, Squeaky Wheel offers an exciting array of media programs, including: on-site educational workshops and in-school programs in film, video & digital arts; an annual publication, The Squealer; screenings and exhibitions of local and visiting artists; artist residencies; editing and equipment rental/access.

The Executive Director supervises a staff of four, plus film, video, digital arts instructors and volunteers; develops programs and membership; manages finances and grant writing, and implements private foundation fundraising. The ED also represents Squeaky Wheel within the Buffalo / Western New York community and advocates and promotes on behalf of the organization in the larger media arts field.

Responsibilities
• Grant writer for all general operating, program and capital grants.
• Work with Board of Directors and Staff to develop and implement short and long term strategic plans and policies of the organization.
• Develop and oversee programs relevant to the mission of the organization.
• Oversee all finances.
• Coordinate and implement fundraising and development plan.
• Represent organization locally and nationally.
• Hire and supervise staff.
• Advocacy and promotion on behalf of organization and the larger media arts field.

Qualifications
• 3 years experience in non-profit arts organization or program management.
• Bachelor degree required. Advanced degree in Media Arts, Arts Administration or related preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of successful grant writing and fund development.
