youTUBE 2.0 project

new works by MICA's click.here: an introduction to interactive media course.

in the 80's and 90's d.j.'s would use vinyl records as [open.source] sound archives to create new & hybrid forms of music. today, with the birth of web 2.0, video culture and open.source material at the forefront of main stream [digital] culture; video artists have an almost endless supply of material available to them online. websites such as youTube can serve as open.source video library. it is in this spirit we present youTube 2.0. all of the videos presented here have been re.mixed from material found on the youTube network using the title of each work as a search query. the re.mixed work is then re.injected back into the youTube system. please feel free to download these videos, re.mix, re.post & invite others to do the same. dilute the system and help create an endless, evolving digital hybrid.

5 hour experimental electronic sound compilation

Kikapu net.label has unveiled its largest and most ambitious release to date, "Wein, Weib und Gesang" is a focus on experimental and ambient-styled electronics, with tracks from a group of some of the most remarkable artists around. Some of these faces are new to Kikapu, while some have previously released here a number of times.

The title is an old German saying that is loosely translated as "wine, women and songs...all you need to be happy in life." Seeing as this release clocks in at nearly five hours in length, these songs represent a collective attempt to help you, the listener, be happy in life.

This compilation includes a wide selection of unreleased material by many well known electronic and audio artists working in the field of sound today.

Head over to Kikapu to download this 5 hour compilation.
