Artist Statement
I took screenshots of Sugimoto's seascape imagery. I re-photographed the image by adding water droplets on top of the I-pad screen. The droplets function as a wide-angle lens, revealing glimpses of the iPad’s RGB (red/green/blue) liquid crystal display.
These colorful droplets against a black and white image gives a poetic display of the construct of a digital image. Whereas Sugimoto refers to water and air as lifeforms, I am highlighting the life form of the digital image.
