Scapes in RGB (2014)

I used iPad screenshots of Hiroshi Sugimoto seascapes., retrieved by entering parameters into common search engines. I re-render the image by adding water droplets to the screen. The droplets function as a wide-angle lens, revealing glimpses of the iPad’s RGB (red/green/blue) liquid crystal display.

These colorful droplets against a black and white image gives a poetic display of the construct of a digital image. Whereas Sugimoto refers to water and air as lifeforms, I am highlighting the life form of the digital image. No post production was uses other then saturation and levels
