One Gallery, here, from Belgrade (www.kcb.org.yu) refuses MANIK with his proposal for exhibition.
Reason is, in jury explication, that MANIK have no international exhibitions.
Beside links with our net. or MNA activity on Rhizome in last few years(imagine-MANIK considered his work on Rhizome, even his cloned object "Rhizome twice in time “as part of international activity").It's obvious that jury actually not talking about MANIK's international, or whatewer,showing work, jury with his explanation actually denied that MANIK make New Media Art. That’s the fact.
In MANIK's case this act(refuse to give exhibition)mean that MANIK couldn't earn money and actualy,in state in transition which Serbia certainly is, without art market and without state support MANIK going to die both-as artist's and as human as well.
We know it's not coincidence easy to ignore.
New Media Art after all text,essays and thought on Rhizome and after all books
with NMA as subject,actually still depend on old discourse with root in 'classic' media theory/aesthetic.
MANIK have courage to fight for his NMA but without support from
institution as New Museum is,and without support of Rhizome comunity
we'll be one more idiots who fight with fists against bazooka.

This days we are going to put images on blog and send our proposal (whole material) to you Christina, and to Rhizome comunity.We are sure our action can help other NMArtists to fight against that kind of discrimination. Actually guys from Gallery never ask our proposal in electronic form. They prefer paper.
One more interesting fact is that only, so called.*state artists*,people who belong to dozen who share money from state budget, make exhibition abroad, and other privilege can participate and satisfy condition and get term for exhibition, and so on, endless circles…
MANIK's not in that group and its ultimate cynicism to ask from MANIK to own what they (Gallery belong to Belgrade, other word to state Serbia) de facto keep from us on safe distance.

I'm afraid I don't have any curatorial credentials to wave except for co-editorship of dvblog but it seems to me quite extraordinary that these people should ignore what is both a wholly original and substantial body of work.
I've followed it with fascination and great appreciation these last few years.

In Luhmann’s theory of systems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niklas_Luhmann) NMA (New Media Art) belong to ’art’ as kind of *under-system*.Following that insight NMA as part of ’art’ should be or develop, or, if there’s no reason to survive-collapse.
It’s something like conceptual art in beginning-most of old fashion art critic denied any aesthetic value of this art. After half century that art’s important in ’Art history’…no doubt.

In this moment as prolegomenon for political define of NMA corpus. Is that (NMA) existed or not? If is yes, than it’s international (it’s in ’nature’ of media…net…).
We were convicted that members of Rhizome could understand that simple fact, but obviously it’s not the case.
MANIK put ’on table’ simply question there's something in art we call NMA-is that good(valid,important,live…etc)enough to deserve magnificent attribute ’art’, or NMA just should wait for ’better’ times? Or NMA existed like projection of few dozen people who actually can’t draw nice?
We evoke politics action and we espect laud and clear Rhizome members attitude about that issue because there’s no chance to approach to that question ~~~~chatting~~~~~
