At first ,rather appropriately, I couldn't open this.

When I did I was glad I kept trying.

I particularly like the Zen like calm with which you
juggle lots of material, multiple voices++, images,
but there's always a feeling of *direction* to the
ultimate result - I mean a complex *direction*, one
perhaps not easily glossed, but there nonetheless
(oh.. & its beautiful too)

****************

++ reminds me for some reason of mid to late 80s work
by The Fall -the multiple strands thing, the layering
to create not a muddy sameness but a complex, dynamic,
explorable thing++

*****************

Could be my prejudices but although I've always been
an admirer of your work I find this smallish, linear
work more nourishing than some of your other larger
scale (and interactive/generative) pieces.
Of course I love the poems pretty much unreservedly &
I can't help but feel there's a transposition of
*that* sensibility across into this new strand of
image work here.

I look forward to lots more..

yes! it's EXACTLY like composing a poem—the compressed language of poetry translates well into the brevity of netcinema–

i'm really enjoying putting these short videos together–i find myself less-attached to what was at one time a dogmatic and almost evangelical belief in non-linear, reactive media…i still believe quite strongly in reactive artforms, and continue to work in that direction, but i'm also finding these short, linear video works refreshing…

it could also be that, writing code for a living now, i want to do something different when i PLAY…lol

in any case, thanks for the kind words…one of the reasons i started working in these short forms was your work, and some of the work i've seen on DVblog and other vlogs (i'm a huge fan of Fast Moving Animals and of David Elliott)…
