Artist Statement

"Expanding horizon (Reykjavík)" (2012-2013) explores the space of the horizon line. Produced with time-lapse photography, animated movements, and playing with perception, during the SIM residency in Reykjavik, Iceland, the photographs document the horizon line of Reykjavik, looking out over a 24 hour period. This work explores how the vastness of a horizon line can be captured, compressed and re-presented for viewers to align with as an artwork.
