Artist Statement
TAYLOR HOLLAND (b.1971, Oklahoma, USA) is an emerging artist and digital designer living in Paris, France. Holland’s work explores physical reality, technological domains, and the places where the two intersect.
His notable projects include:
“Fra[mes]” a project which takes antique frames from the Sainthill Lijsten collection in The Netherlands and fills them with their own ornamentation using a unique digital process.
“Eurobus” a series of more than 700 photographs featuring graphic designs of tour buses in central Paris.
“Vector Fields” a series of web sites and animations created using an original process.
Holland’s work has been exhibited in the United States and France, and has appeared in various print and online publications including VICE, L’Oeil, La Gaîté Lyrique Magazine, Azart Photo, BoingBoing, BOOOOOOOM!, It’s Nice That, I Like This Art, Deadspin, Eye Magazine, Feature Shoot, NPR, and Counter-Print, as well as the television networks France 2 and M6.
In addition to his art practice, Holland is a professor at the Paris College of Art.
