Artist Statement
We built this together, it was a labour of love, and I watched your metamorphosis with keen eyes. I nurtured you with deep intent; for I knew you would go on to do great things. I can’t say you were the first, and undoubtedly you won’t be the last but I do know you formed the integral part of me. These past years we have learnt so much about each other, though it would be foolish to say it hasn’t been without its hardships. It was a special partnership, I had the tools and you had the materials, it’s easy to see that we made a great team. I watched the culmination of our hard work, and at the delight and entertainment you spread- I can truly say that was when I fell for you. I know it will be long time before the walls start crumbling down around us, and I have to watch helplessly as our memories get washed into the sea. [Kim Shillam]
